Helping Kids Know, Love, and Follow Jesus

AWANA is a weekly discipleship program where kids build friendships, have fun, memorize Scripture, and grow in their understanding of God’s Word.

Each Wednesday night includes engaging Bible teaching, small-group discipleship, handbook time, and games led by caring, committed volunteers. Our desire is to partner with parents as they help their children know, love, and serve Jesus for the rest of their lives.

Wednesdays during the school year at 6 PM

AWANA stands for “Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed,” based on 2 Timothy 2:15.

Puggles

Ages 2–3

Puggles introduces toddlers to foundational truths about God through play, music, crafts, puppet lessons, and simple Bible teaching. Children learn that God made everything, God’s creation is good, God loves them, and they can respond with thankfulness.

Cubbies

Preschool and TK

Cubbies helps children begin understanding God, Jesus, and the Bible through Scripture memorization, puppet shows, crafts, games, and handbook activities. Parents complete a short weekly handbook lesson with their child at home.

Cubbies wear a blue and red AWANA vest where they display the awards they earn throughout the year.

Sparks

Kindergarten–2nd Grade

Sparks combines Bible teaching, Scripture memorization, handbook time, and active games. Children progress through three handbooks that introduce the story of the Bible and God’s plan for salvation.

Because children in this age group are still developing their reading skills, parents play an important role by reviewing lessons and practicing verses at home.

Sparks wear a red AWANA vest where they display their patches and awards.

T&T: Truth & Training

3rd–4th Grade

T&T helps kids develop a deeper understanding of God, the Bible, the gospel, and what it means to live out their faith.

This year, students will work through Discovery of Grace, exploring:

The character of God
The value and purpose of the Bible
The death and resurrection of Jesus
Living out their faith through the fruit of the Spirit

Weekly conversation prompts help parents continue the learning at home. T&T students wear a green and white AWANA shirt where they display the awards they earn.

56

5th–6th Grade

56 helps students learn how to read, understand, discuss, and apply Scripture for themselves. Through Bible study and group conversations, students practice asking thoughtful questions, explaining what they believe, and connecting God’s Word to everyday life.

Our goal is for students to leave 56 with greater confidence studying the Bible and talking about their faith.

Parents
Are an Important Part of AWANA

We believe parents are the primary spiritual leaders in their child’s life. AWANA works best when church and home work together.

Your child’s handbook helps continue the learning beyond Wednesday night. Depending on your child’s age, you can participate by reading lessons together, practicing Bible verses, asking what they learned, and helping them remain consistent throughout the year.

The goal isn’t simply to complete a handbook or earn an award. We want kids to understand God’s Word and discover how it shapes their everyday lives.

Make an Impact in the Life of a Child

A caring, consistent adult can make a lasting difference in a child’s life. AWANA volunteers build relationships, encourage kids, and help point them toward Jesus each week.

You don’t need to be a Bible expert or have previous experience. If you have a heart for kids and a willingness to invest in them, there’s a place for you. Opportunities include:

Leading a small group
Listening to children recite Bible verses
Helping with games and activities
Offering an encouraging, consistent presence

Volunteers may serve every week or every other week, making it possible to serve in AWANA while remaining connected to our Wednesday night men’s or women’s ministries.

When you serve, the base AWANA registration cost for your children is covered. Families are responsible only for supplies such as handbooks, uniforms, or bags.
